What waterproof laminate can and cannot do.
KONO Harbor is laminate built for real kitchens: a core the manufacturer rates waterproof, edges sealed with wax at the press, and a click joint that keeps spills on the surface. It feels and sounds like wood underfoot, which vinyl does not.
Spills, a leaking dishwasher, wet paws and mopping are normal duty: wipe water up within the day and the board will not swell. Water that sits for days under a fridge or seeps under the floor is a different story for any laminate, because the core is still made of wood fiber.
That is why we put waterproof laminate in kitchens, entries, laundry nooks and powder rooms, and point full bathrooms with tubs and showers to vinyl plank. Installed by our crews, KONO Harbor starts at $6.10 per sqft in the Sacramento area.
Where to use it, room by room.
Kitchens and dining rooms: yes, the main reason this board exists. Entries and mudrooms: yes, with a mat for grit, which scratches any floor faster than water hurts it. Laundry nooks and powder rooms: yes, with a sealed edge at the toilet. Full bathrooms with a tub or shower, and basements prone to seepage: choose vinyl plank instead.
Care is simple: a damp, well-wrung mop or a spray mop, no steam mops and no soaking. Wipe pet accidents and spills the same day. Felt pads under chairs and a mat at the sink do more for a laminate floor's life than any cleaner.

Waterproof laminate questions, answered straight.
Is waterproof laminate really waterproof?
It handles spills and wet mopping without swelling, as long as water is wiped up. It is not meant for standing water for days; for full baths we recommend vinyl plank.
Waterproof laminate or LVP?
Laminate feels more like wood and resists scratches better; LVP is fully waterproof. For wet rooms, see waterproof vinyl plank.
Can waterproof laminate go in a kitchen?
Yes. Kitchens are exactly what it is built for: drips, spills and daily mopping.
