Who makes the floors KONO sells?
KONO is a flooring store and distributor in Sacramento. We select laminate, LVP and hardwood from established flooring manufacturers, buy in volume, and keep the stock in our own warehouse. Every box carries its lot number, the manufacturer warranty comes with it, and we will show you the product and test documentation on request.
Is KONO laminate really waterproof?
The surface is waterproof and we filmed a 72-hour immersion test to prove it. Standing water at the seams for days is a different story, which is why we say "surface-waterproof" and recommend LVP for full baths.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Every installer is a KONO employee, background-checked and trained on our own product. That is how we can put labor and product under one lifetime warranty.
What does installation cost?
Installation is $2.75 per sqft for laminate and LVP and $4.35 for engineered hardwood in the Sacramento region, on top of materials, so installed laminate starts near $6.10 per sqft and LVP near $4.95. How much flooring should I buy?
The floor area plus 10% for cuts, rounded up to full boxes. Rooms with many corners or a long hallway can need a little more. We measure before the quote, so the order matches your rooms.
Do I need a permit to replace flooring in Sacramento?
No. Replacing a floor covering is finish work, which the California building code exempts from a permit. Condo and HOA rules can still apply, and we send the product spec sheet an HOA asks for.
Is a big-box store cheaper than a local flooring store?

LVP or laminate for hot Sacramento summers?
